How to develop a daily blogging habit?

Well, this is one of the primary questions that surely run through the minds of the bloggers, especially when you are new to this field. Well, for an answer, it would simply be discipline and clarity of the ideas behind the niche. Another point to remember is the rule to choose a niche you are comfortable with .This helps you to contribute on the niche and make it grow.
Well the following tips should motivate you to achieve the same:

1. Daily think about the topic before you write:

Once you have decided to write daily, the next task would be to spend time on thinking about the different ideas/topics related to the niche. Single one of them out, research about it and then add your flavor and thoughts to that idea. Once you have a blueprint in mind and thoughts clear, it’s easier to put them in words. It may be hard in beginning, but anything accomplished for a long term goal always had an initial resistance. Also, once you decided to write, do not limit yourself to less than 300-400 words. One of the reasons is most audience lose interest if its short one for most niches unless the niche is related to  cartoon or infographics. So keep a word target as well. This would also help you in increasing your vocabulary as well.

2. Be an active observer:

Being an active observer, helps in getting ideas and different thoughts on your niche. But most of the time, we tend to remember it for a limited period of time, and then forget it. So, its always nice to have a notebook or something that can capture your thoughts or ideas. And most of the time, we get ideas while we travel. The urge of a writer/blogger is to put it across as soon as possible into his/her blog and that in a way provides an inspiration for daily blogging.

3. Love that writing/blogging:

Not everyone can become a blogger/writer. Not everything can motivate you to be a blogger/writer for long term unless there is that love for writing or blogging. There should be that natural flow of good feelings when you write. And that helps well when you write daily as the love now moves closer to your heart.
.

2. Write with 99 percent from your heart and 1 percent from your head:

This is one big tip and believe me this single step marks a big difference for your blog from others. A blogger/writer is expected to add his thoughts and findings on different things. This clearly establishes the blog/website from others. What audience is really looking forward to is the thoughts expressed by the author in the blog rather than just getting the normal view of a topic. Also when you are constructing from heart, there is a good chance the flow of words could be logical and you’re your soul or rather from the writer in you. Most bloggers agree on the fact that number of edits or reedits are less , once you are working from the bottom of your heart. And its more easier to connect with audience once you write with help of your heart. But you do need the mind for putting those grammatical things and logics wherever needed.

3. Reward yourself on a regular basis:
It’s important to reward oneself on a regular basis. Keep checking the goal and the statistics on a regular basis. Based on the satisfaction indulge yourself in something relaxing and soothing the mind and soul. It could be a walk or watching a movie or even having that wonderful dish for your lunch or dinner. Just anything. One reason behind this is to refresh your mind and memory from things. So that next attempt on things will be fresh and chances for things going stall or being demotivated due to routine writing can be removed. This is one of the big strategies that most writers indulge in so that their blogs and writings always remain fresh day after day, month after month, year after year.
4. Keep the blog strategy in mind while writing:

Building an audience or showcasing your skills or any other message has to be conveyed properly through your blog. And the key to that is your writing. Daily writing helps in moving closer and closer to that goal and also helps you to draw the different statistics related to sub –niches. You could understand the demanding thoughts and ideas in niche and focus over there, so as to build a good audience. So blog strategy should be sort of motivation for you to do blogging on a daily basis.

Common mistakes that bloggers must avoid

Many a time most bloggers and (even writers for that matter) would come up stating their efforts are yet to be rewarded. And most of them end burning out or becoming less passionate about blogging. Like any profession, blogging needs patience, courage and a desire to aim for the very best among the competition. Lot of times, many of these bloggers makes noticeable and unnoticeable mistakes that cause a big loss in readers and prospects. Worse, the bloggers continue in same path without correcting the mistakes. It is always worth to do a self-assessment and check the  direction of things, even when you are blogging for fun.

Some of the common mistakes that bloggers make are:

1. No proper aim/goal for the blog:
To establish the very goal of the blog you started, you need to have clear answers to the following questions:
  •  What will be the prime focus of the blog. What would and would not be covered in the blog.
  •  Why did I start this blog for? Is it for a selected audience or free for all.
  •  What are the different milestones I would be looking forward in coming months for my blog?

Whether the goal is to reach 5000 subscribers, or make money or   establish one as a subject matter expert, there is no right or wrong with the goals. The most important thing you should have a clear idea of what you would like to achieve through your blog. This would then translate to how to achieve them and what are the ways and so on.

So the basic solution is to keep  a goal in mind and check the goal in every quarter and evaluate the progress.

2. Bad formatting:
This is one of the biggest mistakes most bloggers make (Even some excellent writers and bloggers does the same). And the end result is loss in prospects. A blog should always look presentable and easier to the eyes of a reader. It should not look clustered and with improper fonts.

So one of the best ways to solve this problem is by following the basic tips:
Use shorter paragraphs for the overall article.
Highlight the important details
Use bullet points to break text into useful points.
Headings and sub headings needs to be used

3. Schedule of posts
An erratic style of posting different articles will definitely frustrate readers. Moreover as blogger/writer you would find it difficult to maintain the rhythm and tempo required for your blog. The key here is to keep a consistent, yet comfortable schedule while posting articles. It need not be on a daily basis or weekly or biweekly, it can be even monthly, but then it needs to be consistent. A little bit of flexibility is often considered fine, but long periods of inactivity and activity will not help either the readers or bloggers.
So, the solution would be to keep a consistent and comfortable schedule for blog posting. And remember that quality matters over quantity.

4. Improper writing:

It’s a sad fact that some of the excellent bloggers and writers are let down by the frequent typing mistakes, grammatical mistakes, repetitive words or poorly formed sentences or words. Although most readers would let go of occasional mistakes, frequent ones are definitely a letdown.

The key solution here is to review a post for few minutes or hours before publishing it to the readers. Set aside a few hours or minutes as needed and do it comfortably and at a gentle pace. Use spell checker and make it a point to rewrite any poorly written sentences. It really helps. In case needed, asking   a near and dear one for a review can also be considered.

5. Bad linking and optimizing techniques:

This is mostly on the technical side of the blog. It’s important to note the keywords and links used in the blog are used to attract the audience and also helps in getting the best exposure possible.

So a solution, make sure you are using the right links and keywords in all of your articles and comments. A diligent approach here can get your rich rewards.

6. Leaving readers clueless:

Sometimes, bloggers just publish things without considering what audience should be doing with the knowledge or information shared. A course of action is not mentioned directly or indirectly. The blogger should be always be writing an article considering the audience in mind. It should be presented in a way that the reader could take any action including the sharing the article if needed.

7. Unrealistic goals:

In today’s blogosphere, there are literally thousands if not millions of blogs. There is a fierce competition in different niches to reach the top .Bloggers who kept going in the race, would tell you a story of keeping a achievable goal one at a time and not set unrealistic goals. It’s literally impossible to earn $100 in the first week of blogging come whatever other say. It takes time and effort to establish and stabilize the reader base as well earn well. So,its important to keep a real goal that is achievable. It also helps in getting you in some confidence to go further plus it would not burn you out as well.
